About Lubasi Home Trust
Lubasi Home Trust is an orphanage based in Livingstone under the Catholic Diocese of Livingstone. Our mission is to provide holistic care to orphans and vulnerable children.

Job Summary
Lubasi Home Trust is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Coordinator to oversee its operations. The Coordinator will provide strategic and hands-on leadership, ensuring smooth operations and prioritizing the welfare of the children. Key responsibilities include managing daily activities, supervising staff, overseeing resources, and engaging stakeholders to support and enhance the Home’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
a) Leadership and Management
• Plan, coordinate, and direct all activities at Lubasi Home Trust.
• Ensure effective implementation of decisions made by the Working Committee, Board of Management, and Board of Trustees.
• Oversee day-to-day operations for efficient and smooth running of the Home.
• Provide regular reports and updates to the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders.
b) Child Welfare and Development
• Oversee the welfare, safety, and holistic development of all children in the Home.
• Spend time with children to understand and address their physical, spiritual, and psychological needs.
• Ensure children receive quality education, monitor school performance, and support educational development.
• Coordinate nutritional requirements, ensuring the availability of balanced meals daily.
c) Staff Management and Development
• Supervise and support staff, including the Assistant Coordinator, Administrator, Social Worker and other personnel.
• Address staff concerns, foster teamwork, and ensure professional development through training and motivation.
• Oversee recruitment to ensure all vacant positions are promptly filled with competent individuals.
d) Asset and Financial Management
• Maintain and safeguard the fixed assets
• Oversee repairs, maintenance, and insurance for all assets.
e) Stakeholder Engagement and Fundraising
• Collaborate with the Department of Social Welfare and other relevant government departments to enhance child welfare initiatives.
• Build and sustain relationships with local and international organizations, donors, and supporters.
• Liaise with stakeholders for skills training and educational opportunities for children.
• Actively seek donations and resources to support the Home’s programs.
• Organize and lead fundraising activities to sustain and improve the Home’s operations.
f) Meetings and Reporting
• Organize and facilitate meetings with the Working Committee, Board of Management, and Board of Trustees.
• Ensure the prompt preparation and circulation of meeting minutes following each meeting.
• Effective reporting to the Founder and other stakeholders.

Educational Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in social work, child development, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience, preferably in an orphanage or childcare organization.
• Knowledge and experience in child psychology will be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of child welfare practices and safeguarding principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
