Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of a Demand and Supply Superintendent to join the versatile Supply Chain team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for formulating and developing initiatives, strategies which will result in fostering optimal acquisition and utilization of resources needed to ensure resource optimization and profitability maximization.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist the Supply Chain Manager in a support role with regards the management of the supply chain team.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and end users through implementation of effective integrated demand planning and workflow tracking.
• Supervise activities related to demand planning, inventory, procurement and contracts activities.
• Work with the coordinators and sectional supervisors to achieve supply chain objectives. This includes management of leave roasters, outputs, and individual development plans.
• Oversee and ensure that the Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) Process is managed in line with the site standard operating procedure.
• Maintain the required stock accuracy and ensure that the stock take counts are in line with the agreed standard.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date policies and job procedures for all tasks performed within the function.
• Assist to ensure that all contractors on site conform to contractual obligations and that all commercial requirements of the company are maintained by each contractor.
• Ensure performance tracking through set key performance indicators/areas.
• Develops initiatives and coordinates global supply chain functions strategically to ensure resource optimization and profitability maximization.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Minimum Degree in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalent
• Minimum ten (10) years experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in the mining environment.
• Sound knowledge of contract law both Zambian and English.
• Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Procurement, Inventory, Warehousing, and International Contracts.
• Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Exposure to ERP, experience with SAP will be an added advantage.
