To enable, support and drive governance excellence across the digital and technology environment through support and implementation of risk management processes in projects, operations and assurance tasks.
Job Description
Management of Project Risk and Technology Control
- Establish and maintain project management standards including regular review of adherence processes and development.
- Ensuring that all projects comply with the appropriate change management methodologies, principles, and templates.
- The role holder will be key in the compliance of risk management strategies in projects.
- Ensures education and embedment of appropriate governance to ensure that the Bank’s technical, risk and other standards and compliance requirements are met, and that the portfolio governance framework is comprehensively firmly embedded across all areas.
- Facilitate portfolio and technology risk management.
- Drive first line assurance in country which includes adherence to standards, health checks and quality reviews.
- Assist in supplying the required information for any Audits underway.
Governance
- Provides the first focal point for the resolution and /or discussion of governance issues affecting the organization.
- Provide input to, and where required, make recommendations to the Absa Regional Office Data Management Council, Data Governance Committees, Divisional Committees, Data Forums or any other committee on data management, data quality and governance issues
- Commission and assist Absa Zambia in the development and implementation of data governance and management policies and processes and standards
- Review of Governance Policies and Standards and provide recommendations to the relevant committees and structures
Establish an annual data governance action plan, secure the necessary implementation resources, and monitor the implementation of that plan.
Improving existing capabilities
- Ensures that peer health reviews take place re-validating the self-assessment, with the focus on identifying gaps, opportunities, and mismatches, taking an independent view.
• Ensures that reviews are undertaken to check and challenge the project/programmes within the portfolio. This includes consistency of reporting, management, dependencies, lessons, and themes.
Business Architecture
- Reviewing, analyzing, evaluating ideas, projects, and opportunities to develop new products, new technologies and business models for the business segments.
- Collaborating across business segments to both find opportunities for and showcase ideas in the Innovation and emerging business pipeline.
- Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement.
- Ensure solutions developed across organization are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits).
- Partners with IT architecture team in developing an IT framework that aligns with the business plan.
- Functions as a liaison to Business and IT partners to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology.
- Key in the effort to work with business leaders to identify business capability needs and prioritization.
- Key in the effort to identify and document capability and initiative needs and strategic prioritization into business architecture deliverables (roadmaps etc.).
- Provide architectural oversight of projects; ensure requirements are in alignment with business strategies and business architecture roadmap/framework.

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
