JOB DETAILS:
Position Summary:
Nathan is currently seeking a Driver for the USAID Zambia Revenue for Growth Activity. The Driver will be responsible for transporting staff and providing logistics and other support to the project. Preference will be given to local applicants. The Driver reports to the Human Resource and Administration Specialist. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive project staff and other authorized persons safely to and from various points and respective destinations using the Project vehicle.
• Coordinate with staff to prioritize and schedule transport requests as required to meet staff requirements.
• Observe and adhere to all safety precautions and driving laws before and during driving.
• Maintain proper vehicle mileage and usage records as required.
• Conduct daily condition checks to ensure that the vehicle is in good running order.
• Keep the vehicle in a clean condition to uphold the image of the organization.
• Maintain punctuality and courtesy and adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
• Always maintain confidentially of R4G Activity information while executing duties.
• Facilitate staff on field trips as assigned.
Administrative Roles
• Deliver and collect mail and other documents to and from various locations.
• Required from time to time to assist in office cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform office administrative support functions as required in support of the Administrative Assistant
• Perform office day-to-day errands.
Vehicle Maintenance
• Ensure vehicle repairs are carried out properly by the official manufacturer’s specifications.
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy, secure, and in good working condition.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles.
• Manage the vehicle service schedule.
• Always carry out basic safety and security checks on the vehicle before departing.
• Ensure that the organization’s vehicle is refueled as and when required.
• Maintain neat & accurate records of all journeys in the vehicle logbook.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Five (5) years or more commercial driving experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Completion of driver training course(s) preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working on USAID or donor-funded projects preferred.
• A Diploma in Transport and Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
