Main Purpose:
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of stationary electrical systems and auxiliary equipment. The role ensures operational efficiency, system reliability, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Use appropriate PPE and observe all safety protocols.
Identify electrical hazards and safely isolate circuits for repairs.
Install electrical conduit, wiring, and terminations.
Maintain and calibrate electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and microprocessor-based control systems.
Use test equipment to calibrate transmitters and analyze control loops.
Interpret engineering drawings and manuals for system installation and troubleshooting.
Perform repairs on analog/digital circuits, PLCs, instrumentation, and computer hardware.
Design, install, and maintain complex control systems, including PLCs and instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and level.
Communicate effectively regarding faults and resolutions.
Train and supervise support personnel where required.
Maintain records, update schematics, and assist with scheduled maintenance planning.
Enter and retrieve data using the computerized maintenance system.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Qualified Trade Test: Electrical / Millwright / Auto-Electrical / Instrumentation.
Registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
Strong commitment to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards.
Previous experience working on a remote mining site is an added advantage.
