JOB DETAILS:
Job offer position
Electrician and Sound/Light Engineer: full time position
Job start: as soon as possible
Reporting to the Director.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an electrician:
• Carry out condition monitoring and preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment through regular repairs and replacements;
• Performs routine weekly maintenance on electrical equipment;
• Ensures that all tools and equipment are available and kept in serviceable condition;
• Ensures that all loose hanging electrical wiring cables around the Alliance Française are well secured;
• Promptly attend to electrical emergencies;
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

As a sound engineer:
• Set up and operate audio and video equipment, including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, sound and mixing boards, and
related electronic equipment for concerts, sports events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences.
• Operate control panels to select the source of the material.
• Set up equipment for live performance.

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent Minimum Advanced Certificate in Electrical Engineering
• Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) is an advantage

KNOWLEDGE
• Able to read any kind of schematic electric drawing
• Fire Building Safety Regulations
• Proven experience in sound engineering
• Experience in light engineering is an advantage

KEY COMPETENCIES
• Good/excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Fluent in English
• Ability to establish work priorities
• Ability to use initiative and good judgement in accomplishing tasks
• Time management
