Trócaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, established in 1973 and currently has presence in more than 17 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia including Rwanda. Trócaire has been operating in Rwanda since 1994 and is currently implementing a 5 year Strategic plan from 2016-2020 focused on 3 programme pillars: Resource Rights, Women’s Empowerment and Preparing and Responding to Emergencies. Trócaire does not implement programme directly. Instead the organisation works in partnership with local civil society and Catholic organisations in 7 districts in Rwanda.
An interim cover role of Finance Assistant has arisen within our office for a period of 5 months. Reporting to the Finance Officer, the role will work closely with the Finance and Programme teams in the country office. Responsibilities include supporting administration, financial management and reporting. The role suits someone who will be available for 5 months from 1 October 2018 to 28 February 2019 as well as someone passionate about development.

Expected skills and qualifications:
1. Relevant Accounting or Finance Degree;
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in Audit/Finance in an NGO environment;
3. Average Microsoft word and excel skills;
4. Demonstrated analytical skills;
5. Basic understanding of financial management systems. Exposure to Agresso Business world is an added advantage; and
6. Impeccable integrity and work ethics, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
