JOB DETAILS:
Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, a health training institution offering various programs for Health Professionals, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacancies at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University.

PURPOSE:
The Head Procurement and Supplies Officer shall be responsible for the procurement of works, goods and services to ensure the attainment of value for money and efficient utilization of the institution’s resources. He/she shall also be responsible for the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures and codes of practice to ensure adherence to good procurement practices.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures, codes of practice, and strategies.
• Develop and implement the institutional procurement plan in order to facilitate efficient procurement.
• Facilitate the acquisition of goods, works and services to make them readily available and facilitate achievement of the objectives of the Institution.
• Provide secretariat services to the Procurement Committee to facilitate the conduct of business.
• Provide technical advice to Management on procurement matters to ensure compliance with statutory provisions.
• Prepare solicitation documents in order to facilitate invitations of bids/proposals;
• Prepare quarterly and annual procurement reports in order to provide information for decision making.
• Undertake Contracts management in order to ensure compliance to contractual obligations.
• Contribute to the development of work plans and budgets.
• Supervise and undertake annual performance reviews for staff in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Full Grade 12 School certificate or its equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or related field.
• Master’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or related field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
• Must be a full member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply with valid membership Certificate.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
