JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Machinist to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor – Trucks, you will be responsible for Interpreting engineering drawings and use a wide range of portable line boring machines to perform line boring operations. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• To ensure that cracks are detected, repaired and heat treated.
• Analyze component parts, and machine to suit the prevailing situation in the department.
• Able to perform Critical measurements.
• To identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Have the ability to diagnose faults with equipment through observation.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area both during and after completing a job/task.
• Carry out a job safety analysis (JSA) before the commencement of any work.
• Ensure task requirements are clearly understood, and all risks identified before commencing the job.
• Work according to all safety policies and ensuring that correct PPE is always worn.
• Adhere to all company requirements for the use of permits, risk assessments, Isolations and risk management.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Must have a full Grade 12 certificate.
• Must have a Craft Certificate in Machining from a well-recognized Institution.
• Must have at least 3 years’ work experience in mining, engineering or any related industries as a qualified artisan machinist.
• Must be a Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
