JOB DETAILS:
Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company Limited is a Water Utility Company on the Copperbelt Province, providing quality water and sanitation services to its customers in Ndola, Luanshya and Masaiti. In its continued strides to sustain and improve service delivery to its esteemed customers, the Company seeks to employ highly motivated and goal-oriented individuals in the position of:

1.0 ENGINEER-OPERATIONS G4 X 2 (03 Years Contract)
Location: 1 Ndola / 1 Luanshya
Department: Engineering

Overall purpose of the job
To supervise the distribution of adequate, consistent and safe water in order to meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities among others include:
• Development and implementation of the water distribution Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals in order to guide the operations of the section
• Supervision and undertaking effective maintenance of water reservoirs in order to ensure distribution of safe and adequate water.
• Supervision of the operations of the water distribution system in order to consistently supply safe and adequate water to customers.
• Supervision of the maintenance of water distribution network in order to prevent water loss and ensure water supply.
• Supervision of installation of new water connections in order to expand customer and revenue base.

Qualifications and experience
• Full form V/Grade 12 School Certificate
• Degree in Civil, Water Engineering or equivalent
• Paid up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• 4 years’ experience
• Clean valid driver’s license

2.0 ENGINEER – PROJECTS – G4 X 1 (3 years Contract)
Location: Luanshya
Overall purpose of the job
To undertake infrastructure development projects in order to develop the company’s capability to meet the demand for water and sanitation services.

Key responsibilities among others include:
• Development and implementation of policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Manuals in order to guide the operations of the Section.
• Supervision of the construction, rehabilitation and expansion of existing and new water supply and sanitation infrastructure in order to develop the company’s capability to meet the demand for water and sanitation services.
• Coordination of the stakeholder engagements in new project areas in order to facilitate successful implementation of projects.
• Project monitoring and reporting in order to ensure compliance to design specifications.
• Implementation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and the development of the associated Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) for projects in order to comply with environmental regulations.

Qualifications and experience
• Full form V/Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor of engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent
• Paid up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• 4 years’ experience
• Clean valid driving license

3.0 SUPERINTENDENT – MECHANICAL X 2 (Permanent and Pensionable)
Location: 1 Ndola / 1 Luanshya
Department: Engineering

Overall purpose of the job
To facilitate and undertake maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and plant installations in order to prolong their lifespan and ensure availability.

Key responsibilities among others include:
• Development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules in order to guide the operations of the Unit.
• Design, installation, maintenance and repair of plant and electro-mechanical equipment in order to ensure smooth operation and prolong their lifespan. Identification and resolution of equipment faults in order to ensure their availability.
• Regular update of documentation and technical specification in order to facilitate maintenance works.
• Collection of equipment operational data in order to monitor performance and inform decision making
• Supervision of housekeeping of the mechanical maintenance workshop in order to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications and experience
• Full form V/Grade 12 School Certificate
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Paid up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• 2 years’ experience
• Clean and valid driver’s license
