Employment Opportunity
• The Local Government Service Commission established the Human Resource Management Committee for Lusaka City Council in accordance with Section 33 of the Service Commissions Act No. 10 of 2016 and further delegated some functions among others the recruitment of officers in Division III and IV of the Local Government Service.
• Lusaka City Council invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

Job Title: Grader (03), Roller (03), Excavator (01), Backhoe Loader (02), Front End Loader Operators (02):
Job Details:
Responsible for carrying out all duties associated with the machine trained for

Key Responsibilities:
• Work on road maintenance projects among others
• Maintain efficient and safe operational status of the machine by conducting prestart checks daily in order to ascertain its mechanical fitness for works
• Operate the machine in a manner that will not result in undue or unnecessary equipment breakdown.
• Report all defects on the Machine to the workshop/transport section.
• Ensure good house keeping
• To follow instructions as given by supervisor

2. Job Title: Crane Truck Driver (01), Tipper Truck Driver (02)
Job Details:
The Driver will be responsible for the safe, efficient and productive hauling of material as may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive assigned trucks and avoid spillage on roads during operation.
• Maintain the tyres for the trucks by not running over harmful objects
• Maintain efficient and safe operational status of the machine by conducting prestart checks daily in order to ascertain its mechanical fitness for works
• Ensure good house-keeping
• Follow operating manuals and general signage
• Report all defects on truck to workshop/transport section
• Follow correct instructions from the respective supervisor and laid down procedure
• Perform any other duties as me be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate
• Aged between 25 and 45 years
• Class CE Driver’s licence-Held for at least 3 years from date of first issue
• Minimum 3 years’ driving and operating experience of a 20 tones Chinese crane truck, tipper truck or similar
• Ability to Drive and operate multiple equipment an added advantage
• Good aptitude for fieldwork
• Reliable / independent
