JOB DETAILS:
Palabana University is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer for the University.

Purpose:
A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at a university is responsible for overseeing the financial management, planning, and strategy to align with institutional goals. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, their key duties include managing budgets, developing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The CFO plays a critical role in providing financial oversight and strategic direction to ensure the sustainability and growth of the university. They also prepare detailed financial reports for the University's council and regulatory authorities. Some specific responsibilities include leading the budgeting and planning process, overseeing financial operations, risk management, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, financial reporting, risk management, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing public sector financial institutions.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Chartered Accountant and member of ZICA.
• Holders of ACCA, CIMA, and/or CA Zambia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or a Master of Business Administration or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in financial management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and drive organizational change.
