Overview
The Network Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing the Zambia Activists and Rights Defenders Network. This volunteer position focuses on fostering communication, collaboration, and information sharing among network members, thereby strengthening advocacy efforts and promoting human rights.
Responsibilities:
Primary Point of Contact:
• Serve as the main liaison between the network and its members.
• Respond promptly to inquiries, requests, and concerns from network members.
• Maintain regular communication to keep members informed about network activities, opportunities, and relevant updates.
Organize Meetings and Discussions:
• Plan and coordinate regular meetings, both online and in-person, to facilitate dialogue and engagement among network members.
• Prepare agendas, circulate meeting minutes, and follow up on action points to ensure accountability and progress.
Database Management:
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of network members, including contact information, areas of expertise, and organizational affiliations.
• Track and document members’ activities, achievements, and contributions to the network.
Coordinate Joint Actions and Campaigns:
• Collaborate with network members to identify common goals, issues, and opportunities for collective action.
• Facilitate the development and implementation of joint advocacy campaigns, ensuring alignment with the network’s mission and objectives.
• Provide logistical support and coordination for events, protests, petitions, and other advocacy initiatives.
Promote Collaboration and Information Sharing:
• Foster a collaborative environment among network members by facilitating partnerships, knowledge exchange, and resource sharing.
• Promote the use of communication tools and platforms for sharing updates, resources, and best practices within the network.
Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor the effectiveness of network activities and initiatives in achieving objectives and driving impact.
• Prepare regular reports on network activities, membership engagement, and outcomes for internal stakeholders and funders.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Passion for human rights, social justice, and advocacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in the development space
• Proficiency in using communication and database management tools (e.g., email, social media, CRM software).
Time Commitment:
The Network Coordinator role requires a commitment of approximately 8hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate peak periods and urgent needs.
