JOB DETAILS:
Purpose
Manage payroll function and ensure that policies and strategies are consistently applied within the company, in line with the remuneration policies and legislation to eliminate financial risk and to support employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing the end-to-end process of payroll, including collecting and verifying employee time and attendance data, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
• Staying up-to-date with labor laws and tax regulations to ensure the company’s payroll practices are compliant. This may involve handling tax withholding, wage garnishments, and other deductions accurately.
• Generating various payroll reports for Management, Finance, and Government agencies. These reports may include payroll tax reports, earnings summaries, and more.
• Coordinating and managing employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions that impact payroll.
• Overseeing the payroll software and systems, including implementing updates, improvements, and ensuring data security.
• Developing and managing the payroll budget, which includes forecasting costs related to salaries, taxes, and benefits.
• Supervising a team of payroll specialists or administrators to ensure the efficient operation of the payroll department.
• Conducting regular internal and external audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Developing and updating payroll policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with company guidelines and legal requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Full ACCA, Full CIMA, Full Chartered Accountant (CA) Zambia, Masters in Finance is an added Advantage.
Experience
• Full in a job-related major or equivalent and 8 to 10 years of related experience in Payroll senior management; or a combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role
• Current knowledge of Payroll procedures and related laws.
