Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on People and Culture Specialist (HR Specialist) who excels in utilizing cutting-edge technology, including AI tools, databases, and new systems, to drive efficiency and improve HR processes. This position is ideal for someone who is results-driven, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a deep understanding of performance management, workforce planning, and staff care. The HR Specialist will play a key role in shaping and executing our people strategy, driving culture change, and ensuring compliance with Zambian labor laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Culture Change & Employee Engagement:
• Spearhead initiatives that align with the organization’s core values, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and integrity.
• Coordinate HR change management efforts and drive a positive work environment that supports employee satisfaction and high performance.
Performance Management:
• Implement the new robust performance management framework to align individual performance with organizational goals.
• Provide coaching and support to managers in delivering constructive feedback, setting clear objectives, and conducting performance evaluations.
Workforce Planning:
• Work closely with management to anticipate workforce needs, design high tech tools and systems, and ensure the right talent is in place to meet current and future Family Legacy objectives.
• Use data-driven insights to inform the HR Director on staffing, skill gaps, and succession planning.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
• Lead the full recruitment process, from job posting and candidate screening to interviewing and onboarding.
• Optimize recruitment strategies through the use of AI and automation tools to streamline processes and attract top talent.
Staff Care & Development:
• Implement programs focused on employee well-being and professional growth.
• Develop training initiatives to upskill staff and increase engagement, ensuring a strong pipeline of internal talent.
HR Technology & Data Management:
• Leverage AI tools, HR databases, and technology platforms to streamline HR processes, track employee performance, and generate actionable insights.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all HR data, while optimizing workflows for maximum efficiency.
Compliance & Labor Law Knowledge:
• Ensure the organization complies with all Zambian labor laws and regulations.
• Provide guidance on legal issues related to employment, contracts, benefits, and dispute resolution.
• Stay up to date with changes in labor law and make proactive recommendations to mitigate risks.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as an HR Specialist/Manager or in a similar HR role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of AI tools, HR databases, and technology systems for efficient HR management.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance management, culture change, and workforce planning.
• Solid knowledge of Zambian labor laws, employee rights, and legal compliance.
• Hands-on approach with a focus on results, quality, and timely execution of HR initiatives.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to change.
• Experience in managing recruitment, onboarding, and staff care programs.
• Spiritually mature. Must be very conversant with faith-based environments and Family Legacy Missions International Philosophy of Ministry.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certification in HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a plus.
• Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) platforms.
