JOB DETAILS:
Purpose:
• This role is responsible for driving financial and operational performance for all production operations by ensuring accurate cost accounting and reporting, prudent cost management, driving risk management and compliance, providing business intelligence for decision support, and contributing to strategy development and execution as a key member of the Product Supply leadership in the country.

Key Tasks:
• Coordination of the Resourcing Squad activities to enable achievement of the Production Mission outcomes.
• Finance support and business partner for the Production Mission team and Site Lead.
• Steer prudent financial management and compliance for Row Crop Seeds across all field and plant manufacturing operations in the country.
• Costing corn seed for local production and exports into the Sub Sahara Africa region.
• Computing transfer prices for export volumes and ensure agreements are in place between respective trading legal entities.
• Support design of business performance metrics and consolidate production financial performance data for reporting and decision support for both the production unit and Zambia legal entity reporting.
• Cost centre mapping and management of cost center master data for accurate accounting and analysis of production costs.
• Prepare annual budgeting and forecasting for production operations.
• Deliver understandable financial data analysis and simulations in monthly forecasts, budgets, and SBP.
• Enable understanding of COGS, all cost components, and variance analysis among production and business leads, and ensure incorporation of financial analysis in strategic and operational decision making.
• Manage grower accounting operations. Support team members to achieve and to work towards obtaining robust savings in our production operations.
• Support monthly stock counts.
• Develop and deploy analytical tools used to drive view of supply chain performance indicators.
• Share recommendations to seize opportunities or overcome challenges.
• Discuss, prepare and execute succession planning and individual development plans for the costing team.
• Own and execute month end closing activities, reporting, and internal and external audit requests.
• Play an important part in identifying external and internal risks and mitigations.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, ACCA/ CIMA (Certified Accountant) and member of Zambia Professional Accounting body – ZICA.
• At least 10 years’ experience in finance, with demonstrated experience in product costing and inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of product supply processes and related ERP systems i.e. SAP.
• Dedication, hard work and willing to stretch and achieve more.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross functional/cultural team based and matrix environment.
• Establishing clear direction and making decisions on a timely manner Fluent in English.
