Overview
Leading Security Firm seeks Project Manager in Zambia
Duties:
1. On a daily basis, the PM will analyze the operational security environment throughout the region, country and city and work closely with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure the Post’s security posture and countermeasures are commensurate with the overall threat to U.S. personnel and the Mission
2. Provide proactive program management
3. Provide the COR with specific information and status of the Local Guard Force on a daily basis
4. The PM must be dedicated full time to support this contract and must be accessible and responsive to the Contracting Officer (CO) or COR on all matters related to contract performance 24/7
5. The PM must be accessible in person within one hour of request by the COR or Regional Security Officer (RSO)
6. The PM must meet with the COR and the LGF Coordinator (LGFC) routinely
7. The PM is required to visit each office covered by the place of performance a minimum of once per quarter

Experience and Qualifications required:
Required Education: The PM shall have completed secondary education, poly-technical school or obtained a national diploma or Associate’s degree.
Required Experience:
1. Minimum ten years of police, military, security or Local Guard Force management experience with a minimum of five years of the work experience being at the supervisory or command levels
2. Minimum of five years’ work experience in the Host Nation (i.e., the country where the services will be provided) or in the region. (Zambia or Central East Africa Region)
3. Experience in program or project management
4. Experience managing security staff or Local Guard Force management experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Possess intimate knowledge of overseas security environments and have familiarity with recent trends and specific terrorist and criminal threats facing the defence office in the Host Nation
2. Program and/or project management skills
3. Risk management skills, including problem identification, risk management planning, qualitative risk analysis and problem solving
4. Qualifications in a range of security-related skills
5. Verified record of proven reliability and good conduct to minimize personnel and staffing issues
6. Computer literacy, including the ability to use all common office management tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)
7. Experience with multiple levels of communication among various levels of management
8. Be able to maintain and manage communication between all parties
9. Expertise in all areas of physical security and access control
10. Must understand operational methods of all guard force units and zones for response
11. Must be capable of maintaining a professional demeanor under highly stressful circumstances
12. Be experienced in basic communications and radio use/procedures
13. Be able to define, sequence and estimate activities and resources
14. Experience acquiring, developing and managing project teams

Residency & Language Requirements:
1. Must be a citizen of Zambia, US, South Africa , or a Third Country National citizen in possession of a valid current work visa in the host nation
2. Must speak the local language (if not English) and have an English language proficiency speaking/reading skill level S4/R4 (advanced). Descriptions of the language proficiency levels can be discussed in more details.
3. Must hold a valid driver’s license
4. Must live in the same city Lusaka or surrounding areas
