The Aflife Holdings Zambia Limited (AfHold) group of companies is seeking qualified and experienced medical insurance brokers to provide comprehensive medical insurance services for the organization. We are seeking competitive proposals from reputable brokers who can effectively meet our insurance needs while delivering exceptional value and service.

Background Information

AfLife Holdings Zambia Limited (AfHold)

AfHold exists to widen financial services business offerings, enhance legal and regulatory compliance in business flow processes and also enhance shareholder value. The Group offers centralized functions including group finance, risk and compliance, Information Communication Technology, Tax, strategic marketing & branding, human resources and administration, business incubation and support services.

African Life Financial Services Zambia Limited (AfLife) is a leading and pioneering Zambian investment management firm serving both corporate and retail clients with a track record of over 29 years to the liberalization of the Zambian financial sector. We manage the largest pool of private sector pension and insurance fund assets. Current pooled fund mandates including the Saturnia Regna Pension Fund, Golden Sunset Pension Fund and we also manage single employer mandates.

Benefits Consulting Services Limited (BenCon)

Benefits Consulting Services Limited (BenCon) is the premier private sector pensions administration and consulting services company in Zambia. It is also involved in investment advisory services and facilitates actuarial consultancies. It is an independent manager of nearly 50% of the market with over 165 Occupational Schemes for the leading companies covering in excess of 50,500 individual members mostly under the Saturnia Regna Pension Trust Fund (SRPF), (Zambia’s largest Private Sector Pooled/Umbrella Trust Fund). The company also created and manages the Golden Sunset pension fund, one of the newest multi-employer funds which has experienced phenomenal growth in the short time of its existence.

Zambian Home Loans Limited (ZHL)

Zambia Home Loans a specialized mortgage finance business domiciled in Zambia. ZHL as a financial services provider is licensed by the Bank of Zambia. ZHL’s product offering include: construction mortgage, equity release, land finance and USD loan financing, all products tailored for Zambians

AfLife Properties Limited (AfProp)

Aflife Properties Limited (AfProp) is a Property Development and Management Company, with over $50 million worth of properties under management. It provides pre-letting, letting, maintenance and marketing services. The property spread under the mandate include high cost residential properties, commercial properties as well as industrial properties for institutional fund managers and private real estate owners.

AfLife Capital Limited (AfCap)

Aflife Capital Limited (AfCap) is an advisory services Company. The firm provides specialist financial advisory services to local and foreign, listed and non-listed companies and business institutions.

AfHold group has a workforce of 88 employees who are employed on permanent and pensionable terms. The group is currently insured with Onelife medical insurance, which is set to expire on 31st December, 2023.

Scope of Services

The selected medical insurance broker will be responsible for:

Conducting a thorough analysis of our current medical insurance coverage and identifying areas for potential improvement.
Advising and assisting our organization in selecting the most suitable medical insurance plans for our employees.
Conducting market research to identify the best insurance providers and negotiate competitive rates and terms on our behalf.
Assisting with the enrolment and administration of medical insurance plans.
Providing ongoing support, including claims assistance and addressing employee inquiries and concerns.
Offering expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance and changes in the healthcare insurance landscape.
Proposal Submission

Interested insurance brokers are invited to submit their proposals by Friday 1st December, 2023. Please provide the following information in your proposal:

Company Overview:

• Name of the company
• Years of experience in providing medical insurance brokerage services
• A list of current clients and references
• Proof of current office address
• Certificate of Incorporation
• Pacra Computer printout
• Applicable Industry valid regulatory certificates

Team Expertise:

• The qualifications and experience of key personnel who will be assigned to our account.
• Any relevant certifications or industry affiliations.

Approach:

• A detailed description of your approach to analysing our current insurance coverage.
• How you plan to identify and select the most suitable medical insurance plans
• Your approach to negotiation and cost reduction.
• Your approach to providing ongoing support and employee communication.

Proposed Timeline:

• A proposed timeline for the implementation of new insurance plans and services.

Cost Proposal:

• A breakdown of fees and charges associated with your services.
• Any potential cost-saving strategies you can offer our organization.
