  Research Project Coordinator
Location: Kirehe
Duration: 1-year renewable upon performance satisfaction and funding
Report to: Health Research Manager
Role description:
The Research Project Coordinator will be a researcher experienced in clinical research and will work with and under the direction of the Health Research Manager and the Principal Investigators (PI). S/he will facilitate and coordinate the daily implementation of the machine learning grant, playing a critical role in the conduct of the study, data management and results dissemination. S/he will contribute to the study design, literature review and manuscripts writing. S/he will work with the PI, the supervisor, and research department to obtain and maintain the technical and ethical approvals from Institutional Review Boards (IRB). Additionally, s/he will coordinate administrative tasks as well as compliance, financial, and personnel reporting and other related aspects of the study..

Role and responsibilities:
• Supervise enrollment and monitoring of study participants
• Coordinate on-site patients screening and appropriate data capture
• Collect and manage study participants’ data and ensure databases are secured and shared only with eligible study collaborators.
• Coordinate clinical research implementation ensuring compliance to the protocols
• Prepare documents for submission to IRB and maintain annual IRB approvals, amendments, and essential documentation.
• Ensure continuous communication and reporting with the study principle investigators and her/his supervisor.
• Serve as liaison with the research team and other study team members with regard to all protocol related requirements
• Participate in research study design, literature search, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
• Contribute to the dissemination of the study findings through local, regional and international conferences as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Keep track of all the logistics and expenses incurred during the implementation of the study.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health related field including Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Demography or other related disciplines
• Contribution to science: the candidate must have published at least one paper in a peer-reviewed international journal as a lead author.
• Familiar with medical terminology, medical records, and information management.
• Experience: at least two years of experience in clinical research that involve the use of electronic data capture
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda, the French language is preferred
• Proactive, high organizational skills, and able to work independently and deliver ahead of the deadline.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to details and accuracy
• Honed with project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sensitivity and openness to working with vulnerable populations
• Professionalism, discretion, and trustworthiness with confidential information is a must;
• Willingness to travel to the field daily for data collection;
• Willingness to work in remote areas including overnight stays;
