Job description:
Purpose
Reporting to the Planner, the Scheduler will diligently execute maintenance planning functions according to instructions and prescribed standards ensuring that optimum equipment availability and reliability is realized

Key Responsibilities
• Supporting the planner in management of master data by upholding “Work Orders Integrity” i.e. status, dates, codes, labour, labour hrs., downtime, descriptions, PM tasks, safety notes etc.
• Job prioritization in liaison with the planner and the section to sustain preventive maintenance
• Determination and optimization of labour, material and equipment resources requirement for the scheduled tasks through the Gantt charts in readiness for execution
• Issuance of work packs to execution team according to the planning calendar
• Material staging such as parts and tools as on the plan in preparation for the shutdown
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations in all maintenance scheduling activities
• Generate reports on maintenance activities, including performance metrics and KPIs
• Preparation of planning meetings
• Assist the shutdown manager through expediting shortfalls during the shutdowns

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate a must
• Craft Certificate in Mechanical or any relevant trade in Engineering field
• A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)

Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Scheduler preferably in mining operations
• Conversant with CMMS tools such as Pronto, SAP, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Packages: Word, Excel, Project, etc.
Added advantage with hands-on experience on the fixed plant in maintenance practises on units such as Gearboxes, Conveyors, Mills, Pumps, Compressors, Crushers, etc.
