JOB DETAILS:
Company Overview
We are Hanhe Industry Zambia Limited, a Mining and Principal contractor of Kokola Copper Mine – Nchanga Open Pit Mine. Our operations include copper mining and tramming at Kansanshi Mine in Solwezi and Lumwana Mine in Kalumbila District, North-Western Province, Zambia. We are the leading provider of integral mining solutions across the country using different mining methods.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Oversee all engineering and maintenance activities within the assigned section.
• Ensure the continuous availability of critical equipment
• Implement and monitor planned maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with production teams to align engineering objectives with operational goals.
Safety and Compliance
• Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations as per company policies and Mining Regulation Laws.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of equipment and processes.
• Develop and implement safety improvement plans for the engineering section.
Team Leadership
• Supervise and mentor a team of artisans, technicians, and support staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and training programs to enhance team skills.
• Manage workforce planning, including shifts, overtime, and leave schedules.
Technical Oversight
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Implement best practices in maintenance, repair, and equipment upgrades.
Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and incident reports.
• Provide detailed monthly and quarterly reports to senior management.
• Ensure documentation of standard operating procedures and technical manuals.

Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Heavy Equipment Repair, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a mining environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Must be a Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

Key Competencies
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in analyzing technical data and implementing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of mining processes, machinery, and safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, mining environment.

Postgraduate Degree
