Zambia is currently experiencing prolonged dry spell and drought ever felt for more than forty years. The country is still recovering from a cholera outbreak which began in October 2023 and reported over 21,000 cases due to decreased access to water, which led to outbreaks of diarrheal diseases as well as other vector-borne diseases.  The Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) wishes to support the rehabilitation of water systems in selected schools in Lusaka, Chongwe and Kafue all in Lusaka Province.

Against this background, the ZRCS is seeking bid proposals from qualified government authorized or recognized contractors/firms to undertake the above-described works.

Bidders must strictly adhere to all the requirements of this RFP. No changes, substitutions or other alterations to the rules and provisions stipulated in this RFP may be made or assumed unless it is instructed or approved in writing by the ZRCS in the form of supplemental information to the RFP. Any Bid submitted will be regarded as an offer by the bidder and does not constitute or imply the acceptance of any bid by the ZRCS. The ZRCS is under no obligation to award a contract to any Bidder because of this RFP.

Pre-bid conference and Site Visit (Mandatory)

Following is the schedule:

Monday 24 June 2024, 0830-0900 hours, assemble at ZRCS HQ Office in Lusaka, Along Los Angels Boulevard Road, Opposite Lusaka Boys Secondary School for site visits of water facility inside the 10 schools namely 1. Kasamba Secondary School 2. Tiyende Pamodzi Primary 3. New Kanyama Primary 4. Lilayi Primary 5. Namando Primary 6. Twalumba Secondary School 7. Chibelo Primary School 8. Twashuka Primary School 9. Rigement Primary School and 10. Woodland B Primary. The site visit will be followed up by a bidders’ conference.
Tuesday 25 June 2024, 0830-0900 hours assemble at Chongwe DEBS Office for a tour of the water systems in the school compound.  The site visit will be followed up by a bidders ‘conference.

Wednesday 26 June 2024, 0830-0900 hours assemble at Kafue Town DEBS Office for a visit to Chitende Boarding Secondary and then Kafue Day Secondary for a tour of the water systems in the school compounds. The site visit will be followed up by a bidders` conference.
