1. Akshaya Investment Ltd in the 2023 budget has reserved some funding for the procurement And Installation of Bio-Degradable Paper Bag/Pack Making Machine

2. Akshaya Investment Ltd now invites for the sealed Bids from reputable eligible Bidders (Companies and Organizations) domiciled in Zambia or other Countries to participate in the procurement and delivery of the Machine to the specific location as detailed in the Bidding Document.

3. The Bidding will be conducted through the open National Bid as specified in the public procurement Act No. 8 of 2020 and Public Procurement Regulations of 2022 using preferential Schemes in accordance to the procurement policies. BACKGROUND

AKSHAYA INVESTMENTS LTD is a Zambian company specializing in the aggregation and packaging of various types of grains and legumes which are packaged and sold in smaller units in the retail markets right across the country.

The business operates in over 5 provinces in Zambia, collaborating with farmers in Eastern and Central provinces (Cowpeas and Groundnuts), Northern and Muchinga provinces (Millet and Sorghum). AKSHAYA Investments Ltd has observed that small holder farmers’ grain production is hampered due to inefficient post-harvest processing methods. The business further plans to install a first ever biodegradable Paper making and paper-packaging equipment line at a strategic point in the value chain as part of promotion of environmentally friendly packaging of grains.

AKSHAYA INVESTMENTS LTD is specialized in the aggregation, cleaning, processing, and packaging of legumes, small grains, and other grain commodities. The business is therefore a key player in the Agribusiness value chain providing linkages for farmers on one end and finished good off-takers such as Pick n Pay and Choppies on the other end.
