General Statement of Purpose of the Contract: The Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist (Social Media/Online Engagement) is a member of the USAID/Zambia DOC team located in the Program Office and reports directly to the Senior DOC Specialist. Leading USAID/Zambia’s digital outreach engagement and social media communications, the incumbent serves as an advisor to Mission staff and implementing partners (IPs) and is a key interlocutor with the State Department, interagency partners, USAID Washington Bureaus, and other U.S. Government agencies and initiatives on issues and recommendations for maximizing the use of digital engagement, branding and marking, and online and social media to help achieve Mission development and communications objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or other relevant areas is required.
2. Prior Work Experience: Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in related fields, with more than three years of experience in public relations, communications, and/or journalism. Must demonstrate track record of professional-level experience in mass communications, graphic design, or online media management required. Experience in digital engagement and/or social media is required. Experience with event planning is preferred. Applicants who do not meet all the education and experience factors are considered not qualified and will not be considered further.
