Lafarge Zambia is looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated, and qualified individual to take up the role of Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to be based in Chilanga.
Overall Job Purpose
To manage designated suppliers for Lafarge Zambia in a timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining complete and accurate accounting records of all transactions with suppliers. .

Main Responsibilities
• Operationally ensure the receiving, registering, matching and paying of all supplier invoices according to terms and conditions.
• Provide timely and efficient AP services that strive to exceed customer expectations and meet Service Level Agreements.
• Enforce the use of contracted suppliers and items as per sourcing agreements.
• Ensure timely issue resolution of blocked invoices and supplier issues.
• Ensure process compliance within the Country and manage AP discrepancies.
• Ensure the closing of Accounts Payable sub-ledger in accordance with the agreed timetable.
• Ensure AP supplier accounts are reconciled within stipulated timelines.
• Review monthly AP integrity reports.
• Create payment group by bank account and by due dates.
• Review non – compliance with the Product Lines and identify corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience/Skills
• Minimum ACCA II or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounts payable.
• In-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.
• Strong negotiation skills and effective communication skills with people at all levels of the business.
• Good analytical skills.
• Resilience to face supplier / customer claims.
• Attentive to detail
• Must be a registered member of ZICA.
