JOB DETAILS:
CBMI’s businesses cover materials building, power generation, water works, environment protection, power transmission and transformation, energy saving transformation and other related fields. In terms of materials building, we are capable of cement projects, glass fiber tank-kiln wire drawing projects, building materials and mining projects. In terms of power generation, our businesses cover coal-fired power generation, heavy oil power generation, gas turbine combined cycle power generation, biomass power generation, and industrial furnace waste heat power generation etc. In terms of water works, we can undertake sea water desalination, municipal water supply, and industrial and urban sewage treatment. In terms of environmental protection, we can handle disposal of urban and industrial solid wastes. The projects undertook by CBMI are spread across different countries from Asia to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Here in Zambia, CBMI successfully constructed Lafarge cement plant, Sinoma cement plant and others.
We are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
• Capable of accurately estimating material quantities and labour requirements from construction drawings
• Assist in preparation and submission of Bills of Quantities and other related documentation
• Identifying and evaluating all technical issues that are related to a project
• Attending site visits and pre-bid meetings
• Working in close coordination with Project Management team
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager
Job Requirements
• Grade 12 school certificate
• University degree in Quantity surveying, Civil engineering, Building engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in similar role
• Working knowledge of construction computer applications
• Strong mathematics skills set a must
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management and scheduling skills, and ability to work under pressure
• A Fully registered member of the Surveyors Institute of Zambia
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
