JOB DETAILS:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the consultant will work on the farmer’s link project implementation particularly from the technical angle. The consultant will be the main point of contact for third party service providers and the executive team and provide day-to-day management services for the project. The consultant is expected to work both on-site and remotely. This will include provision of technical advice and suppor.
Job Responsibilities:
• To assist in project implementation particularly from the technical angle. The consultant is expected to work both on-site and remotely. This will include provision of technical advice and support.
Scope of Work
• The consultant will support activities related to the implementation of the new system to ensure the smooth and timely execution.
• The consultant will ensure that the client receives the system with full functionality as detailed in specifications documentation. Review the documentation prepared by the developer of the system and ensure that they are in line with the company business model.
• Conducting technology analysis and supporting the project team on technology selection.
Assessment of business and technical requirements and design as necessary.
• The consultant is expected to identify any issues that are likely to lead to project implementation challenges and provide recommendations for addressing these issues. In this regard, the consultant is expected to provide advice and suggestions on/solutions to problems identified on an ongoing basis.
• Review project tasks, resources and schedules and advise changes and additions as appropriate,
• Assist in the co-ordination of infrastructure dependencies, such as cloud computing services, help desk, communications network services including integration to third party service providers as well as support assessment of project teams’ readiness for hardware and applications delivery, integration and UAT testing.
• Assist on the preparation of Go Live Readiness and manage post live environment system maintenance
Initiate and coordinate project ITC training needs as they arise and those proposed by the developer of the system.
• Perform a liaison role with Sector Regulator (s) were necessary as the system is developed and implemented.
• Develop and coach IT unit staff members.
• Evaluate, Review and or establish various IT policies and protocols of the company were necessary.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems.
• Full grade 12 certificate
• Certification in Project Management (PRINCE2 / Project
• Management Professional) is a must.
• Certification in Microsoft / Cisco courses is an added advantage
• Experience in managing ICT projects
• 2-5 years’ experience in a busy ICT environment.
