JOB DETAILS:
A private School in Lusaka for Nursery, Primary and Secondary is looking for a professional School Counselor to help pupils prepare for academic achievement, ensure career readiness and develop personal or social competencies through a comprehensive, preventive and developmental counseling program. The goal is to ensure that pupils will become productive and well-adjusted adults. .

The day to day duties of a School counselor/guidance teacher will include;
• Orientation of new pupils to a school situation;
• Maintenance of pupil records;
• Providing guidance and counseling and psychological services in a school;
• Provide guidance for children with special educational needs (SEN);
• Providing vocational guidance and careers education;
• Completing Annual Guidance Return forms*
• Assist in the formulation and reviewing of the school curriculum (subject combination) in accordance with requirements of institutions of higher learning;
• Preparing materials and organize meetings for teachers and parents so that they know better and understand pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN);
• Liaising with School Guidance Services at the Ministry of Education

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Degree/Diploma in Counseling/Guidance or related
• Minimum of 1 year of School counseling or teaching experience
• Must be computer literate
