BAT ZAMBIA IS LOOKING FOR AN AREA MANAGER – SOUTHERN REGION TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN LUSAKA

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The Area Manager will need to develop and drive region specific volume and profit objectives for each trade channel of the business by the execution of strategic plans, team motivation to meet sales goals, ensuring the company provides exceptional customer service to existing & potential clients through the most effective and efficient utilisation of budgets and entrenchment of BAT ethos.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
• Translate the corporate strategy into a marketing strategy that grows the BAT brands penetration and maximises the ROI,
• Regional development and implementation of a trade marketing & distribution strategy that meets objectives set for consumer and customer segments
• Integration of market, consumer and customer insights across the marketing organisation, facilitating the formulation of the marketing strategy
• Achievement of end market business strategies in the region assigned
• Drive the implementation of the marketing strategy
• Implementation of cascaded marketing programmes,
• Identify necessary changes in strategy and priorities during implementation
• Optimise effectiveness and efficiency of company’s resources
• Implementation of global initiatives in the region assigned.
• Manage KPIs for all Trade Marketing reps and track ongoing results
• Manage allocated budget for all trade marketing activities in the region
• Drive an on-going process of marketing evaluation and innovation in order to achieve the maximum competitiveness in availability, communications, price and image
• Ensure compliance with International Marketing Standards 2 and dissemination of knowledge and learning to your team, facilitating productivity gains and continuous improvement

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Degree in a Marketing or Business-related field
• Ideally around 4 -5 years’ experience in tobacco or a similar FMCG company
• Knowledge of the Zambia geography and provinces
• Strong operational management
• Field operations / logistics / supply chain management
• Motivating, coaching and developing people
• Ability to solve conflicts among areas/ functions
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Project management skills
