The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales Area Central Africa. As Business Line Manager, Parts & Service for one of the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers in the mining industry, you will be accountable for all aftermarket sales and service support while leading an organization of more than 280 employees.
Key responsibilities:
• Promote a safety-first culture within the service teams and across the organization. Ensure regular reviews of safety processes and identify areas for improvement within our service centres.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance and grow our parts and service business.
• Prioritize customers satisfaction and loyalty by implementing strategies to effectively address their needs.
• Assess and develop new business opportunities by maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
• Continually improve the service process (including workshop, warehouse, and field service) to ensure profitability and efficiency while maintaining relevant quality control standards.
• Drive positive change by integrating Sustainability into our business practices and foster a culture of responsibility.
• Expand our digital customer offering as well as implement digital tools within our own operations.
Your profile
• You have demonstrated experience in aftermarket sales and service operations. Familiarity with the Central Africa mining industry in which Sandvik operates is important while understanding the aftermarket landscape, customer needs, and industry trends is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans for aftermarket business growth as well as strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills are vital. Understanding of different business models, pricing strategies, and customer segmentation.
• Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics is valuable, as well as the ability to address complex challenges related to aftermarket operations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills are needed, enabling effective relationship-building with clients and stakeholders.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field is required, while a master’s degree (e.g., MBA) would be looked on favorably.
