What we do
• Tackle uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent. We do this by training African football coaches, games teachers and community leaders to use fun, interactive football sessions with inbuilt sexual health messaging with their players. Alongside receiving sexual health information during football sessions, players also have the chance to access sexual health services at sessions and football tournaments, such as HIV testing, condoms and other contraception, and referrals to further clinical services. We have programmes in twelve African countries, run through partnerships with local community organisations and football clubs.

Summary of post:
• The Finance Officer will be responsible for reviewing, processing and reconciling all financial transactions relating to the USAID’s Controlling the HIV Epidemic in Key and Underserved Populations programme (CHEKUP 1). With support from the Finance Controller, the Senior Programme Manager and working closely with the Compliance Officer you will ensure the programme finances are managed in line with USAID policies, procedures, and regulations.
• You’ll be supporting the wider project team in managing their expenses in a timely and accurate manner to ensure you meet the reporting timelines. As a member of the project team you’ll also be available to provide administrative support, providing some variety in the role.

Responsibilities:
1. Financial Administration
a. Ensuring all transactions are authorised and evidenced in accordance with the organisations procurement and finance policies
b. Collate and process payments to suppliers and programme staff in a timely manner, issuing LPOs as appropriate.
c. Responsible for the accurate input of invoices and expense claims onto Xero, the online account solution
d. Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner
e. Co ordinating the month end timetable to ensure the wider team are working towards meeting the reporting deadlines
f. Provide training and support to the wider project team to facilitate accurate and timely adherence to finance policies
g. Working with the Compliance Officer and Finance Controller to develop the processes to ensure we’re working towards best in class finance processes

2. Project accounting and financial management
a. Producing financial reports as required by the grant funder
b. Support the provision of information and documentation during grant funder reviews and audits
c. Track spend versus budgeted ensuring the Senior Programme Manager is regularly updated on the financial performance of the programme
d. Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager to develop programme budgets and reforecasts
3. Financial and Programme support
a. Manage stock registers for all Tackle assets, ensuring all Tackle equipment and assets are adequately accounted for
b. Support Operations team in organising and running workshops, tournaments and other project related activity as required

c. Perform other duties as assigned
