In September 2009, the Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) was formed as a nonprofit affiliate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to help support the implementation of UMB international programs. UMB, through MGIC, currently has offices in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia. MGIC's administrative operations support the research and clinical programs of the School of Medicine, Institute of Human Virology (IHV) and Center for International Health, Education & Biosecurity (Ciheb), and other UMB entities.

Project Description
Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) Baltimore, USA, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is implementing through Community Impact to Reach Key and Underserved Population for Treatment and Support (CIRKUITS) program a CDC-funded PEPFAR Program being implemented by University of Maryland in Zambia with sub-awards to Ciheb Zambia is entering its 4th year of implementation with slight modification to the scope of its portfolio and slight changes to the structure of implementation with the incoming of KP CSOs to support the Key Population component of the grant. The Senior Program Manager (SPM) will support the COP in ensuring the smooth running of the CIRKUITS program within the Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation Zambia. The SPM will be responsible for providing general program oversight for the CIRKUITS project and will collaborate with the Technical, Human Resource, Administration, Finance, and Program teams in the day-to-day execution of duties.

Job Summary:
This role shall perform the following functions
Main Responsibilities Include the Following:
• Provide program and management oversight for implementation of the KPIF and DREAMS Program so as to ensure the success of the project.
• Support the Country Director and COP in capacity-building efforts targeted at KPCSOs implementing the KPIF initiative.
• Work closely with all partners and provide guidance relating to program implementation and adherence to CDC rules and Regulations.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director in the formulation of project budgets and attending to other HQ and Donor financial requirements.
• Provide budget oversight to ensure that project activity implementation is within the approved budgets and scope of work
• In collaboration with the CIRKUITS project teams, develop annual work plans and ensure smooth implementation of activities.
• Work with the technical teams to ensure timely production of monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual progress reports as per donor requirements and ensuring that follow-ups are done on flagged issues.
• Provide input into the quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports as per the donor’s requirements.
• Supervise and manage the programs team to ensure effective support to the entire CIRKUITS project
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director, Principal Investigator, or Chief of Party.

Qualifications
• Degree in Project management or related field with 5+ years of work experience preferably in a management position
• Demonstrated expertise working in a leadership capacity in either government and non-governmental organizations
Professional Skills:
• Demonstrated a good understanding of the project management processes
• Demonstrated good organizational and presentation skills.
• Must have good communication skills and be a good team player
• Must be good with numbers and must have strong analytical skills
• Fluency in English, both written and oral.
