JOB DETAILS:
Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development Non- Governmental Organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). GNI strives to improve lives, especially children's lives, through community development projects. In order to complete its staff, Good Neighbors International would like to recruit one Value chain Creation Coordinator
Value Chain Creation Coordinator (1) (To be based at Head Office Kigali)
Duties and responsibilities of value chain creation coordinator
Provide technical guidance to establish a social enterprise and important protocols to keep it growing;
Demonstrate efficient maize flour processing and packaging stages and be in line to explain how each unit of concern works;
Mastering quality standards testing tools for both maize grains and flour at all operational stages of social enterprise;
Prepare detailed annual work plans and progressive reports on value chain components and suggest ideas for improvement;
Oversee food quality systems researches to draw out lessons to improve the taste, preservation techniques, and packaging solutions;
Implement and monitors procedures, standards, and specifications aimed at meeting a company’s food quality goals;
Provide significant technical assistance to the production team about quality standards requirements that the final food products should meet;
Support the enterprise to comply with the requirements of RSB and REMA, and regularly share concise reports to all stakeholders;
Conduct a market assessment to identify gaps and market reclamation;
Provide support and guidance for the collection of data and information needed to undertake effective monitoring and evaluation of activities related to value chain and marketing;
Conduct value chain assessment to identify gaps and develop recommendations on how to improve the selected value chains and maximize the impact;
Train other employees on the importance of hygiene, such as wearing gloves, hair nets and washing mixing drums after every batch to ensure food products are not contaminated;
Understanding the Rwandan food safety management systems regulations;
Perform other related duties as requested;
Required Qualifications:
Food processing and production;
The value chain creation of product;
Marketing and packaging;
Business growth and development;
Product development and traceability of final product (from farm to the final consumer);
At least 2-3 years of experience in the above sectors;
Having a bachelor degree in Food science, agribusiness, Value chain management;
Training of ISO, 22000 and quality management standards would be an added asset;
