Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Business Development Manager to support the growth and expansion of our Laboratory Supplies & Life Science Products division. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving sales. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, strategic sales skills, and market intelligence to develop and execute business strategies effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales Support
Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the laboratory supplies and life sciences market.
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
Support in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Assist in preparing business proposals, quotations, and tenders for potential clients.
Work closely with the sales team to generate leads, conduct follow-ups, and close deals.
2. Client Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
Assist in developing and implementing customer engagement strategies to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Provide product demonstrations and technical support to clients when needed.
3. Product & Market Knowledge
Develop an in-depth understanding of laboratory equipment, consumables, and life science products offered by the company.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products.
Work with suppliers and manufacturers to understand product specifications and applications.
4. Sales & Marketing Support
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and sales materials.
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to enhance brand awareness.
Assist in digital marketing efforts, including social media promotions and content development.
5. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to the continuous improvement of business strategies.
Provide feedback and insights on market demands, customer preferences, and product performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role in the laboratory supplies or life sciences sector.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory equipment, consumables, and life science research products is an advantage.
Skills:
• Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to analyse market data and develop strategic insights.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Other Requirements
Ability to travel as required for client visits and industry events.
A proactive and results-driven mindset with a passion for sales and business growth.
