TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 4 MINI ABLUTION BLOCKS MALE & FEMALE AT MAKULULU C PRIMARY SCHOOL AND MAKULULU B PRIMARY SCHOOL IN KABWE DISTRICT.

INTRODUCTION

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely; Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding  mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

HFH Zambia through its Improved Access to WASH Services through Community-Driven Models in Makululu Kabwe District, is funding the construction of : 4 mini Ablution blocks male & female i.e 2 (Male and female) at each school Makululu C primary and Makululu B primary school respectively.

DELIVERY APPROACH

Habitat for Humanity Zambia  promotes a community driven approach involving the local authority (Council),District Education Board (DEBS),schools Management and community members and its leadership from the onset during  the planning , implementation,monitoring  and completion  of installation works. This ensures development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance to the scope of works (see annex 1 below).

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids from its i interested bidders for the construction: : 4 mini Ablution blocks male & female i.e 2 (Male and female) at each school Makululu C primary and Makululu B primary school respectively

This  includes; i) Substructure works: Excavations, concrete and blockwork works, soakaway stone installations,septic tank and soakaway construction ii) Superstructure works: slab concrete works,blockwork works,Lintel construction works,steel purlins and roofing sheets installations,electricals,iron Mongery fittings,water supply and Plumbing fittings(toilets,urinals & shower) and Finishes i.e Plastering,floor screed/terrazzo floor,half rough cast and  half painting.

ELIGIBLE BIDDER
The Bidder is required to poses the following;

General Eligibility and Compliance

-Valid NCC category B or C

-Valid ZPPA Certificate

-Valid Pacra Registration

– Valid Workers compensation fund board certificate

-Valid TPIN

-Company Profile with physical address

-Valid EIZ /ERB registration Licence

-Valid Tax Clearance certificate

-Provision of brief method statement

-Provision of  3 Months latest bank statements

-Duration of project & Gant chat showing schedule of works

Personnel,Experience and Equipment

-Registered EIZ Water engineer,civil engineer, or related qualifications with diploma or degree added advantage  with at least 3 years experience for supervision of works.

-Plumber at least 3 years experience

-Electrician atleast 3 years experience

-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion,award letters,Purchase orders etc).

-Truck 4×4 able to access muddy roads

– Plate compactor

-Poker vibrator

The Bidder is encouraged to visit the site and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid.The costs of visiting the site shall be at the Bidder’s own expense.

DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION
All BIDs must be deposited in a Tender Box at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office on Plot 488a Twin Palms Road Kabulonga, Lusaka. The submission should also include a USB Flush Drive containing soft copies of all documents submitted no later than Wednesday, 9th April 2025 by 2:00 PM clearly marked “Tender for the Construction of 4 Mini Ablution Blocks Male & Female at Makululu C Primary School and Makululu B Primary.”, and addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee. The Bids will be opened on Wednesday 9th April 2025 at 2:30 PM at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office.

SIGNING OF CONTRACT
Promptly upon notification, the Employer shall send the successful Bidder the contract agreement for review and signing.
 
PROJECT DURATION
The employer expects the project to be completed within 4 months of the date of signing the contract.
