Job Purpose:
The Marketing Officer – Trade is responsible for driving sales growth by implementing trade marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility, strengthen relationships with retailers and distributors, and optimize product placement in the market. The role involves executing trade promotions, market research, merchandising, and sales support to ensure Dana Group products are well-positioned in retail and distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Trade Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute trade marketing initiatives to boost product sales and market share.
• Retail & Distributor Engagement: Build strong relationships with trade partners and ensure product availability and visibility.
• Market Research & Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to refine marketing strategies.
• Sales Support & Training: Collaborate with the sales team to drive trade initiatives and train retailers on product knowledge.
• Promotions & Activations: Plan and manage in-store promotions, activations, and roadshows to enhance brand awareness.
• Branding & Merchandising: Ensure consistency in brand representation across all trade channels with effective merchandising strategies.
• Digital & Traditional Marketing Integration: Collaborate with the digital marketing team to integrate online and offline marketing efforts.
• Budget & Performance Tracking: Manage trade marketing budgets and evaluate the success of marketing campaigns based on sales data and ROI.
Education & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from a duly accredited higher learning institution.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM).
• At least 2–3 years of experience in trade marketing, sales, or brand management.
• Experience in FMCG, automotive lubricants, or related industries is an advantage.
Skills
• Strong understanding of trade marketing strategies and retail dynamics.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in market research and data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of digital marketing and in-store activation strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
