JOB DETAILS:
Basic Function:
To oversee all electrical maintenance of fleet trucks and trailers ensuring the effective operation of the entire fleet of trucks in or transiting through Zambia by conducting mandatory and systematic services on every company Truck that arrives in Lusaka and strive to reduce the number of breakdowns. The Auto-Electrician reports directly to the Workshop Foreman and Workshop Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Report and repair the faulty electrical parts on all trucks and electrical faulty codes that arises.
2. Fixing indicators, parking lights, brake lights and fitting starter motors.
3. Replacing of gear boxes.
4. Carrying out systematic checks on all trucks to avoid breakdowns and diagnose problems on trucks in order to avoid further deterioration.
5. Conducting routine general check-ups on the trucks that include preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil and coolant changes, tyre rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters and brake adjustments and any other necessary checks.
6. Ensuring Trucks are maintained in good condition and are road worthy by repairing faulty parts and replacing them with the correct spares.
7. Attending to Breakdowns and accidents when called upon at any time.
8. Accurately open and complete Job Cards to ensure that all records of the trucks serviced are completely and correctly filled in and kept for record purposes.
9. Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
10. Ensuring the correct use and maintenance and return of Workshop equipment and tools.
11. Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment at all time and inspecting equipment for safety compliance and reporting any unsafe equipment, tools or practices.
12. Any other duties as delegated by Management.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Metal Fabrication / Metallurgy background with 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in Transport and/or Logistics in an International Company;
2. Age between 22-35;
3. Driving License Class with experience in driving;
4. LI: Minimum of 12
5. Hardworking and results orientated with delivery capabilities and good time management skills
6. Diligent with strong attention to detail;
7. Results orientated with delivery capabilities and good time management skills;
8. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and Managers
