Digital Communications Officer.
The Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) is a Humanitarian Organization established in 1966 by an Act of Parliament CAP 307 of the laws of Zambia as an auxiliary institution that augments government’s efforts in developmental works and humanitarian assistance. ZRCS is part of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In line with its mandate, ZRCS partners with the Government of the Republic of Zambia in responding to both man-made and natural disasters, including epidemics.

As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Digital Communications Officer to join our Communications and Public Relations team.

Job Summary:
The Digital Communications Officer, will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing Zambia Red Cross Society’s online presence and messaging strategy. He/Her primary responsibility will be to manage the digital communication channels, including social media platforms, website content, email campaigns, and any other digital outlets. He/She will collaborate closely with various departmental teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all online channels.

Key Responsibilities:
• Content Creation: Develop engaging and relevant content for digital platforms, including social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and website updates.
• Social Media Management: Monitor and manage our ZRCS’s social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to comments, and analyzing engagement metrics to optimize performance.
• Website Management: Maintain and update the organization’s website with fresh content, news, and multimedia elements to enhance user experience and drive traffic.
• Email Marketing: Plan and execute email marketing campaigns to reach our target audience effectively, from designing templates to tracking performance metrics and optimizing for better engagement.
• Brand Management: Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all digital channels, aligning with the ZRCS’s overall marketing and communication objectives.
• Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital communication initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to inform future strategies and decision-making.
• Stay Current: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digital communication and marketing to continuously improve our strategies and tactics.

Qualification and Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field.
• Proven experience in digital communication, marketing, or social media management.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Proficiency in using social media management tools, content management systems (CMS), and email marketing platforms.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with SEO principles and techniques is a plus.
