vacancies:
Director – Investigations -Grade Zra02 (1 Position)
• Reporting directly to the Commissioner – General, the job holder will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management in conducting investigations of fraud, corruption, abuse of authority and other vices committed by clients in order to effectively support ZRA overall objective.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
• Directing and leading investigations to ensure that investigations activities are in general conformity with the standards for the professional practice of investigations;
• Developing new investigations approaches in response to risks identified and considering the assurance and information needs of Senior Management and other stakeholders;
Actively supporting ZRA’s commitment to transparency through the disclosure of investigations reports as appropriate to members of the ZRA Senior Management and other stakeholders;
• Promoting and leading joint and coordinated investigation activities with other Law Enforcement Agencies involving crimes/vices detrimental to ZRA operations;
• Ensuring that allegations of wrongdoing are swiftly assessed and investigated in order to prepare the basis for decisions on disciplinary or administrative actions; Ensuring that investigation activities are in conformity with “Uniform Principles and Guidelines for investigations” and within the legal framework for addressing Non-Compliance with the ZRA standards of conduct;
• Driving the development of operational capabilities; Ensuring thorough reporting, follow ups and advisory services that recurring or systemic weakness identified from investigations result in improving processes and strengthening management throughout the organization;
• Presenting investigative findings to appropriate stakeholders and negotiating corrective action; Formulating and reviewing policies and procedures for investigations and prosecutions regarding tax offenses; Building productive relationships with other investigative agencies.
Requirements
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent;
•Law Degree in Criminology or Administration or the equivalent;
• Master’s degree in relevant field an added advantage;
• Minimum of six (6) years post qualifying relevant experience at middle management level in a similar environment;
• Demonstrated expertise in interview and interrogation techniques in tax administration or a related environment;
• Practical experience in criminal and civil investigative works in tax administration or a related environment;
• Must be a valid member of any relevant professional body.
