JOB DETAILS:
Our Client:
• Our client operates in the Transport and Logistics sector and is a leader in providing transportation of petroleum products and dry cargo both locally and internationally. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Management Trainee to join their Accounts Department. This entry-level position is designed to provide comprehensive training and development in the field of accounting and finance for a period of 10 to 12 months at Ziba Consulting. The Management Trainee will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience and building a strong foundation in financial management. The ultimate goal is to equip the trainee with the skills and knowledge needed to advance into roles such as Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Accountant within our client’s organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Training and Development:
• Participate in a structured training program designed to provide exposure to various aspects of accounting and finance within the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Work closely with senior finance professionals at Ziba to learn best practices, financial processes, and industry standards.
Financial Analysis:
• Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports specific to the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Learn to identify trends, variances, and insights from financial statements relevant to the industry.
Bookkeeping and Recordkeeping:
• Gain hands-on experience in maintaining accurate financial records tailored to the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Learn to process invoices, expenses, and receipts with industry-specific considerations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the budgeting process by gathering data and contributing to the preparation of budgets and forecasts tailored to the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Monitor and report on budget performance with industry-specific insights.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, with a focus on the unique requirements of the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements for audits and tax filings specific to the industry.
Compliance and Regulations:
• Develop an understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to the Transport and Logistics sector.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements specific to the industry.
Systems Implementation:
• Implementation for migration to a cloud-based accounting system. The candidate will be the systems lead in the Finance and Accounting department of the client.
• Learn how to work with accounting software from Ziba accounting professionals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other departments within our client’s Transport and Logistics organization to gather financial information and support financial decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire to pursue a career in finance and accounting within the Transport and Logistics sector.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant internship or coursework in accounting or finance is a plus.
Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP) with an emphasis on their application in the Transport and Logistics industry.
Eagerness to take on new challenges and grow within the organization.

Career Path:
• Upon successful completion of the Management Trainee program, the individual will have the opportunity to transition into more specialized roles within the Finance Department of our client’s Transport and Logistics organization, such as Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Accountant, based on their performance and aptitude demonstrated during the training period.
