What you will be doing:
Ecorys International Development Unit (IDU) works with governments, donors, civil society and the private sector to support poverty eradication, good governance, agricultural and rural development, climate change adaptation, private sector growth, economic development and broad-based social development in the developing world.
The role of Project Manager within the Ecorys International Development Unit (IDU) is to contribute to its sustainable and profitable development over the medium term through the successful management of allocated projects and support for strengthening project management systems and tools.
As Project Manager your role will include but is not limited to:
• Undertaking technical tasks assigned under the Head of Projects and/or Project Director, including editing and proofreading of official project documents and reports and support the preparation of first drafts of non-technical report chapters where appropriate.
• Advising on the identification and recruitment of associate staff for proposals and projects.
• Undertaking ad-hoc technical inputs and assignments as required
• Supporting expert recruitment and mobilisation (CV searching, expert validation, contracting, logistics).
• Administrative support and facilitation of project events, workshops and trainings (letters of invitation, confirmation of attendance, venue confirmations, printing and materials, logistics, etc).
• Supporting project communication and visibility activities as assigned, including organisation and facilitation of project events, visibility materials, logistics and planning, maintain project photo database, etc.
• Providing support where appropriate in wider business development and proposal activities undertaken by broader Ecorys IDU.
• Supporting bid Director in preparation of proposal as agreed, ensure high quality formatting and tailoring of project documents (CVs and Project References) ensuring that project references are included.
• Completing the first drafts of project cashflow and risk assessments and non-technical chapters (staffing, context and key issues).
• Undertaking technical background research and inputs and prepare the final submission of EOIs/Proposals.
• Assisting or leading on the finding and securing of suitable partner firms and freelance/associate consultants as required.

What we will need from you:
• Achieved a first degree or higher in an economics or development related subject.
• Experience of project management and report or proposal writing.
• Demonstrable evidence of the management and delivery of international development projects in developing countries
• Evidence of effective project management including the planning, co-ordination and management of subcontractor inputs
• Demonstrable Technical proficiency in one or more of the Ecorys IDU specialist areas as provided here with
• Proven ability to win projects from international donors (EC, DFID, World Bank, Asian Development Bank)
• Proven ability to lead the preparation of high-quality tenders and proposals
• Working knowledge of project management approaches and techniques
• Working knowledge of issues within the context of donor funded support
• Evidence of strong networks of development partners
