JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
To oversee quality control processes, manage a team of inspectors, and ensure the production of high quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control:
• Conducting quality inspections
• Ensure quality control and CCP monitoring (HACCP)
• Conducting surface and food handlers swabs and sample preparation
• Ensuring the proper calibration of scales, thermometers, and weighbridge
• Enforcing cleaning and disinfection of the work place.
2. Process Monitoring:
• Monitor the production process to identify and address quality issues in real – time, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Review production batch records and other manufacturing related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities.
3. Quality Audits:
• Conduct regular quality audits to assess compliance with quality standards and regulation.
• Audit the quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.
• Assist in investigating and correcting quality related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
4. Team Leadership:
• Manage and provide guidance to the quality control team, including training, performance evaluation, and task assignment.
• Training staff on customer specifications.
• Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/ auditors who are responsible for enforcing good manufacturing practices and other quality related policies in order to meet product quality standards.
• Follow up with implemented programs (gmps, good hygiene practices, HACCP, allergen control, cleaning and sanitation, pest control, equipment calibration, etc) to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel in the plant.
• Make proactive recommendations and offering/ presenting solutions to the quality systems and share knowledge, skills and information with other personnel in the quality system and regulatory compliance department and across functional areas.
5. Data Analysis:
• Collect and analyze quality data, identify trends and implement corrective and preventive actions as required.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, non-compliance and performance metrics.
• Presents reports as required and management.

• Willingness and ability to identify problematic areas and work with the relevant teams to produce long term solutions
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:
• Diploma in Production Management/ Degree in Environmental or Public Health or equivalent
• 3+ years of proven experience in quality assurance and quality control in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the meat industry will be an added advantage
• Experience in a leadershipleade
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Understanding of industry specific quality standards and regulations.
