JOB DETAILS:
The Required Skills for this role Include:
• Procuring animals as per the monthly buying targets according to the grades and sizes needed.
• Inspecting potential animals to be bought, ensuring that no sick or pregnant animals are bought.
• Ensuring that all animals bought are accompanied by the correct documentation (Vet and police permits, proof of ownership)
• Identifying animals that can be feed lotted profitably
• Arranging transport of animals with Logistics.
• Overseeing the loading of animals.
• Grading animals and raising the Cattle Purchase Agreement in accordance with the approved price list.
• Managing junior cattle buyers.
• Communicating prices to potential suppliers.
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Developing medium- and long-term customer relationships with cattle farmers and the local veterinarians in supporting overall business strategy.
• Overseeing blood testing of animals.
• Developing pre-purchase procedures to ensure no pregnant or sick animals are bought

The Required Qualifications are:
• Grade GCE/12 certificate.
• Degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine or Animal Health from any reputable institution.
• Excellent business understanding and background in large livestock
• 2 years work experience
