JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
• To coordinate the monitoring of potable water quality, from sources to entire water distribution system, up to customer end points, and to ensure water samples are tested and results communicated in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Plans and coordinates the sampling and analysis of water from source to consumer end points for quality analysis.
• Plans, Prepares and implements the water quality monitoring programmes and provide recommendations for improvement for non- conforming results.
• Manages the laboratory in accordance with the ISO 17025 Standards and regulatory (NWASCO) requirements.
• Participates in continuous process improvements focused on regulatory requirements, quality and treatment efficiency.
• Coordinates the laboratory performance and monitor capability and costs of instrumentation and for all analysis
• Initiates and reviews Laboratory safety protocols and analytical methods and validates them in accordance with ISO standards.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with Laboratory operating standards and processes that support regulatory requirements in the most effective and efficient manner.
• Application and interpretation of results generated by the Laboratory Technicians.

Qualifications and Experience
1. Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
2. Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Laboratory Science or equivalent.
3. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Laboratory Quality Assurance.
4. Membership from a relevant professional body will be added advantage.
