REPORT TO: FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER

Job Summary:
We are looking for a self- driven, creative and efficient Sous chef for our restaurant you will take the lead in your shift to ensure meals are prepared in an efficient manner, yet maintaining a high level of hygiene.
Our ideal candidates is one who is able to deal efficiently with complaints and has a solid customer service approach. Ultimately, the candidate should should be able to ensure our kitchen provides an exquisite taste to all our customer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee and supervise kitchen staff
• Direct food preparation
• Collaboration with the team
• Helps in the design and food menu
• Produces high quality plates including design and taste
• Ensure that food is of top quality and the kitchen is in good condition at all times
• Keeps the station clean and compliant with the minimum statutory food safety standards
• Develop new seasonal recipes and menus that keep up with the latest trends
• Innovative ideas that can improve our kitchen performance
• Schedules staff shifts and train new staffs
• Monitor and maintains kitchen equipment at all times
• Solve problems that arise and takes the lead in handling of issues arising in the kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Full Grade twelve certificate
• A minimum of a Diploma in the related field
• 3 years experience in a similar role and worked in a fast paced restaurant, five star experience will be an added advantage
• Must be physically fit
