Job Description
2 Community Liaison Officer
We are hiring two full time Community Liaison Officers to be based at the Project site in Southern Province and Central Province. We are seeking highly organized and enthusiastic individuals with experience in community outreach and liaison, interfacing with the public in person and digitally, drafting responses to questions and queries, using contact management software, and providing organizational support. This role will be based at a Project Site.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Meet with members of the community, virtually or in person, at the Project Site Office or offsite, answer questions and queries as required, including through a dedicated toll-free telephone service, designated email address, and project website.
• Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and statistics and to develop meaningful reports from that information.
• Ability to make oral presentations before large/small groups of people.
• Ability to exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the public.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
• Working collaboratively with the project’s Communication Coordinator to organize and conduct community outreach activities, meetings and events.
• Use contact management software to log community and stakeholder comments, concerns and inquiries and liaise with the construction group regarding responses to concerns and follow up with community members as required.
• Coordinate, update and maintain community outreach information for the project.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and notices as necessary, take notes at community meetings and prepare meeting summaries.
• Coordinate community outreach activities to support successful implementation and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Demonstrated experience in community outreach, liaison and community relations.
Experience/skills required:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Fluency in Nyanja, Bemba, and Tonga
• Experience using contact management software
• Bachelors Degree in Social Science or Public Health
• 10 years of relevant experience preferred
