The Key Purpose of this role is to safely operate plant and equipment, monitor and control the process to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare for plant start up
- Start up/Shut down plant
- Run the plant
- On-line quality analysis
- Execute cleaning of plant
- Complete all documentation
- Control inputs usage
- Ensure plant is in working order
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment
- Monitor and control the process
- Measure performance attributes
- Record performance attributes
- Monitor and evaluate trends
- Assure quality of inputs
- Initiate corrective action
- Autonomous Maintenance
- Perform cleaning of the equipment as per standard.
- Raising of jobcards for equipment problems.
- Execute basic lubrication and inspection tasks.
- Work in teams
- Communicate effectively in the workplace
- Contribute to self and team development
- Shift efficiencies (Filtration efficiency, Brewhouse efficiency, CO2 collection efficiency)
- Product Quality (IQMS, Taste results, DO)
- Beer loss
- Usage ratios (raw materials, water, energy, electricity)
- CQI
- Waste reduction Plant Reliability
- Brewing Plant reliabilities
- Completed 5 whys Manufacturing Way
- General Production housekeeping Health, Safety and Environment
- Adherence to PPE policies
- Identification of unsafe practices
- Safe maintenance practices
- Maintenance tools in good working order
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Min – Full Crafts Certificate
- Ideal – FTC (Mech / Elec) or Electromechanical, Lab
- Legal: None
- Training: Min – 2-3 months on the job training Ideal – 3-6 months on the job training
- Experience: 1-2 years as artisan
- Full Technician Certificate (FTC) – Mechanical, Laboratory or Electrical
