1.0 Job Purpose
To evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Company’s engineering processes, systems and controls.
2.0 Job Accountabilities
- To audit Engineering designs, specifications and standards.
- To evaluate compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- To assess risk management practices in engineering projects.
- To review project management processes and controls.
- To conduct audits of Engineering documentation and records.
- To assess risks and controls related to data security and privacy.
- To identify and report on control weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities.
- To provide recommendations for improvement and remediation.
- To undertake effectively the development, review and implementation of the Audit Charter and manuals in order to comply with professional standards.
- To undertake effectively the preparation and implementation of the annual audit plan in order to guide the audit assignments.
- To undertake effectively the examination and evaluation of management controls and governance system in order to ensure their effectiveness and facilitate management and Board decisions.
- To undertake effectively the evaluation and review of risk management interventions in order to ensure their adequacy and corrective measures.
- To undertake timely provision of internal audit reports on the effectiveness of internal controls to External Auditors in order to determine the levels of their substantive test.
- To undertake periodically the preparation of internal audit reports in order to facilitate management and policy decisions.
3.0 Qualifications and experience
- Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) credits including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical, Civil and Water
- Master of Business Administration, equivalent and/or full accounting qualification (Association for Chartered and Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Accountants or Bachelor of Accountancy) will be an added advantage
- Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) paid-up member for 2025
- Three (03) Years’ Experience
Skills, Knowledge and Other Attributes.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Ability to cope with high levels of responsibility, integrity and confidential matters
- Must be assertive, high ethical standards, respectful, objective, innovative and collaborative;
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail; and
- Must have good leadership and interpersonal skills
