Title: Junior Accountant
Reports to: Country Accountant
Purpose: Ensure the accuracy of accounting data and the appropriate documentation and storage thereof

Job’s Responsibilities

• Ensure EBM receipts are issued/printed for all the sales
• Reconcile Sales/VAT records as per the EBM and tracker at the end of each month and report variances to the Country Accountant
• Ensure that petty cash procedures are followed at country level
• Ensure that all expenses have supporting documents
• Maintain an asset register and inform the country accountant of any new assets bought at the shops/distribution centres.
• Perform an audit of fixed assets every quarter and inform the Country Accountant of any missing/damaged assets.
• Ensure that company assets e.g. Motor vehicles/motor bikes are properly registered in the company name.
• Monitor mileage logs at country level

Required Qualifications

• Hold a university degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance)
• A professional Qualification in Accounting is an added advantage.
• Proven working experience in an Accounting or Finance Department
• Fluent in English
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (word, excel, outlook, etc.)
