JOB DETAILS:
We are looking for an On-Boarding Computer Officer for our Transport and Logistics Business Unit who will apply due diligence in tracking of owned and client tankers, generate accurate reports to enable managerial decision making and to manage tanker drivers.
Responsibilities:
1. Heath Safety Security Environment
• Conduct Safety induction on all newly recruited drivers
• Conduct Defensive Driving Courses on New drivers and offer refresher training to old driver when training falls due
• Conduct remedial trainings arising from violations
• Generating and recommending safety procedures, checklists and other forms that aim to improve safety culture on the roads by drivers
2. Vehicle Tracking
• Timeously provide tracking reports management and all relevant stakeholders
• Provide daily violation reports on all erring drivers
• Communicating with Drivers in real time regarding safe driving
• Initiate disciplinary action against erring drivers
• Drive investigations in case of accidents
• Conduct Geo Fencing on the tracking system to regulate driver behavior in accident prone zones of the roads.
3. Dispatch Drivers
• Ensuring all drivers who have been issued mileage and are due for dispatch leave the truck park
• Ensure nil absenteeism of drivers.
• Ensure drivers substitution in cases of illness for smooth operation.
4. Journey Plan Focal Point
• Discuss the dispatch trip card with drivers.
• Debrief drivers on their journey plan after every trip.
5. PoD’s
• Ensure collection of proof of deliveries from drivers.
• Tally all PoD’s with the dispatch list.
• Ensure all PoD’s are submitted to Transport Manager for processing of Transport bills.
6. Custodian of Statutory Requirements
• Ensure renewal for all statutory requirements before they fall due.
• Maintain a database of all statutory requirements for each vehicle.
7. Generate Reports
• Provide reports for input into the driver’s reward and recognition/Driver league.
8. Effective Communication with Key Stakeholders
• Ensure drivers understand all company procedures and policies.
• Coordinate with customs agents and runners in all border posts to ensure smooth movement of Company vehicles.
• Provide status reports per vehicle at least once a day.
Education:
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Transport and Logistics
• B.Ss. Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
Knowledge/Experience:
over 3 years work experience in Transport and Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Membership of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
Skills/Attributes:
• Excellent communication skill
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to manage a big team.
• Customer Service Skill.
• Competence in the Defensive Driving Course, BELSAM and ENAC Dangerous goods Courses.
• Attention to Detail
